10.000 Protested in Bergen «Torgalmeningen»
We’re
looking through our local newspapers called BT “Bergens Tidende” and BA
“Bergens Avisen”
Is the case
treated in the same way in both papers?
Are they
both covering the story in the same way? No. BT have a lot more depth in their
explanation, they’ve written a lot more than BA have.
They are
more or less writing about the same, there are some differences though. BT for
example has Interviewed a few of the people in the protest, while BA have not.
It seems like BA doesn’t really care about the story, but it’s important enough
to write something. But as said before, they’ve written a lot less than BT.
Both of the
papers mention that the three biggest main employees organizations LO, Unio and
YS werw represented, and that there was protesting activities around 200 places
in Norway .
They both
also mentioned the popular band “Datarock” and told that the band really warmed
up the peoples spirit and some were even dancing.
They wrote
about mostly the same, but since BA wrote so much less than BT, BT covered a
lot more than what BA did, but the little that BA did write, BT did also cover.
BT
Interviewed some people which all were against the changes, and that’s why
they’re there.
They
protested because the government wanted to remove the freedom of the employee,
and wanted to give more freedom to the employer. And o fcourse the employee
doesn’t like that, and that is why they protested.
“The battle for heavy water”
This sabotage happened under the Second World War, in February 1943, and
the sabotage is about to stop the German people in creating heavy water, in
Norwegian”Tungtvann”, a necessary ingredient for making nuclear bombs. This is
happening at “Vemork” at “Rjukan”. Before this new TV-series came, two other
films were created, “The heroes of Telemark” and the first one is also called “The
battle for heavy water”, the same name as the last one.
The German man called Werner Heisenberg was a physicist that did not think
too much on the consequences, he was working with nuclear technology and the
heavy water.
We are going to look at the reviews of the new TV-series ”The battle for
heavy water”, and we are looking in the two newspapers “Bergens Tidende” and
“Dagsavisen”. Both of the newspapers mean that Werner Heisenberg, played by
Christoph Bach has a very central role in the series.
These two papers have written a lot different about it.
“Dagsavisen” means that this series is about much more than the sabotage
at “Vemork”. This newspaper also means that there is too little focus especially
on one character, his name is “Leif Tronstad” and he is played by “Espen
Klouman Høiner”, because they mean that he was the most important person in
this sabotage. In general, they criticize the film-director for not letting us
know more about the men who completed the action, and, in fact, make the “Heavy
water” itself the main character.
What about “Bergens Tidende”? This is what “BT” said about “Leif
Tronstad: “Leif Tronstad is a chemical engineer and NTH professor who helped in
the construction of the Hydro plant at “Rjukan”, and he is the person who planned
the Vemork-action from the UK with the Britons, and he is very central person
in the Vemork-action”, and BT therefore is satisfied with the focus on this person.
“Dagsavisen” said that 75 million NOK was not enough to both tell the
factual, the balanced and the real faith history, and this history is really a faith heavy, gripping war
drama.
To conclude, these two newspapers think a little different about this
series , and “BT” gives the serie top score, while “Dagsavisen” gave it a four.
These two papers take up some of up the same things, for example, that
Werner Heisenberg, and Leif Tronstad is two central persons, but have some
different meanings about them.
Hollywood is still hanging on. Both Michael Bay and Danny Boyle have
specific plans for making movie about the spectacular story of how the
Norwegian saboteurs stopped Nazi Germany nuclear plans
.
Both the newspapers talk about how they produce the History; “Bergens
tidende” said that this serie is go more thoroughly into the history, than the
two other films. Historians will probably put a finger on assumed artistic adaptations,
but for a historical interested non-specialist the series give an extremely
good insight into the major lines in the game that forms the backdrop for the
action.
“Dagsavisen” also claims that the
tv-version does not show us the real depiction of the Norwegian heroism and war
courage.
This is the name of this TV-series at Norwegian.
